Solid Kiteboards Hornet 8 12 16 20 Kites 2007

HIGH PERFORMANCE KITES WITH THE FOLLOWING OUTSTANDING CHARACTERISTICS:

- AGIL
- FAST

The low leading power makes it possible to move them quick and controlled to the wind window (= position of optimal forward thrust).

THESE FEATURES WILL BE ACHIEVED WITH:
- special concipated, only low segmented leading edge (with a higher segmented leading edge a kite will be more stable, but less agil). The result of this fast agility is an extreme lift. The Solid Tracking Line, good-natured intermediate kites, coming soon on the market, will have a higher segmented leading edge.
-stiff fiberglass stabilizer within the tips (could be taken off, if they are disturbing the packing).

Kiter prefering fast and agil kites and using the resulting performance for longer hangtime, will ever choose such a high performance kite. For beginners they might be a little bit too fast reacting and therefore too less fault forgiving.

Leading power has not to be described for the Hornet Line, because it is not really existing, it is very low. The depowering distance is very short. You can fly the kites almost the whole time fully powered. Confrontated with a squall the kite is moving quickly to the edge of the wind window.

NEW
The Hornet Line has a special feature, no other kites has, a fith line (5th line + a loop for the 5th line at the mid of the leading edge, 5th line system):

1. Stressless and exact landing possible without any helping hand from another person.
2. More security, because the kite could be controlled also in very difficult situations; pulling the 5th line (not under tension) the kite will be immediately depowered; this handbreak could loosen at any time.
3. Relaunching with pulling the 5th line will move the kite on his back and will than move as usually to the egde of the wind window.
4. With the 5th line the kite could be immediately depowered if the wind is too strong (more effective than the well known way of depowering).

Highest manufacturing standard:
Materials and seams has to face highest stresses. To cope with this a long experienced and based know how regarding production is needed; additionally supported by specialized software for kite manufacturing.

Particularly under low wind conditions the hornet 20 is convincing with its extreme agility. The hornet 20 is as flexible as a 16qm intermediate kite; this is possible because of a very special profile (ministruts). The hornet kites could be depowered very good as all fast kites.

The activity field of the hornet 20 is unusual high.
Disadvantage of big kites: For the relaunch a 5th line will be needed. The fronttube is made for a 5th line, it has an additional loop for it.

USE OF A 5th LINE AS CONTROL- AND SECURITY INSTRUMENT:

Most kiters use it as a take off help after a water landing. Especially bigger kites could be relaunched easily: pull the tube to the front and than move the turned down kite to the edge of the wind window.

The main advantage of a 5th line lies in the absolute landing control without any help for example at high wind conditions. Therefore you have not to throw away the bar; just with one hand, not using a lot power, pull the 5th line and change the angle position of the kite until the kite will be powerless and will fall down smoothly. Before that provocated stall of the kite you had moved your kite near to the ground.

If you are in a situation where you think that your kite will impact to the ground, you can avoid this by pulling the 5th line; a intended stall could rescue your life.
Advantages of the adjuster of the 5th line:

- Increasing wind conditions while you are kiting: pull the adjuster and you can kite home easily; the result is double effective than the adjuster of the well known depower system, because the angle position of the kite could be controlled much better with the 5th line.
-With this principle you will be able at high wind conditions to handle a kite which is actually too big; for jumps release the adjuster, to land just pull the adjuster again. Effect: Inspite of a extremely depowered kite there will be no slack leading lines, means the agility of the kite is not getting lost.

If you are used to the 5th line, you will not have to throw away the bar really often, means high control is increasing safety.

Take off solo:
Just put the spring safety hook at the end of the 5th line around a tree, on the strap of the digged in board or something like that, put down the bar 5m to the kite; lay the kite on its back, take the bar, click the safety in the hook and run by yourself to the edge of the wind window for take off.

Sand and grass are much better for the kite fabric than stones.

Especially for beginners the water take off with the 5th line is very easy.
