 | Nobile Kiteboarding 666 EXT BoardsIntroduced Spring 2006 the EXT has rapidly gained a loyal following. Making a board plane in light winds is a comparatively easy job, making a board plane super early and still be comfortable to ride in powered up conditions and choppy water is something much harder! The elements that ensure early planning in a board (flat rocker and parallel outline) work to make the board less and less controllable (and less and less fun to ride) as the wind increases. The goal of this project was to create a board that you could ride in 9 to 12 knots but wouldn’t need to head back to the beach and change when it hits 15 to 18 knots and didn’t hinder your riding pleasure. For 2007 we’ve applied the advantages of the Hydrodynamic rocker line to this range, combined with a three step progressive flex mould, Elliptical progressive concave and Complete Anti Vibration Technology.
3-D Top Mould
The 666 EXT boards take advantage of our range extending adaptive flex mould. This mould allows the Hydrodynamic rocker line to work at it’s most efficient in light winds. As the wind increases and you exert more pressure on the board to control your speed so more of the tail is allowed to flex. This progressive flex allows you to control your speed without changing your direction of travel giving un paralleled performance, not only in lighter winds but also in windier conditions when other boards this wide become not only impossible to ride but also no fun to use.
Nobile Essentials Triangle
The Nobile essentials Triangle represents the key technology principles used in the 2007 666 range. In 2005 Nobile introduced the Elliptical Progressive Concave (EPC) combining the advantages of a flat and a concave board. Last year we added to this Complete Anti Vibration Technology (CAV) to provide smoother more controllable boards. For 2007 we have continued this development with our revolutionary Hydrodynamic rocker line. Only by combining these features have we been able to achieve both the ease of use and outstanding performance of the new 666
Rocker
Our revolutionary Hydrodynamic rocker line is featured on the 666 and 666 EXT boards for 2007. The benefits of this rocker line in early planing, maximum speed, upwind ability, control and POP can be easily experienced and will be most appreciated by the rider looking for the maximum freestyle performance available from a twin tip today.
Enhanced Anti Vibration Construction
With our unique honeycomb stringer we can reduce the amount of vibration in the board to add control and comfort through choppy water and waves. The stringer also has the added advantage of increasing the POP of the board when jumping due to it’s faster response time. `
Complete Anti Vibration
Using a combination of wood, honeycomb, PVC foam, rubber, carbon and Kevlar the 666 range has the lowest vibration properties of any board currently in the market. Reducing vibration has a tried and tested effect on the ride characteristics of the board ensuring exceptional grip and ride quality through any and all water conditions.
Range Extending Adaptive Flex
Our unique three stage adaptive flex technology allows us to use a flatter rocker on this board than would have been previously possible. The flatter rocker delivers earlier planning but is traditionally equated with lack of control, however by building very carefully defined adaptive flex areas into the board, the rocker can change to suit the wind and water conditions and the rider’s demands, the harder you push the more flex areas of the boards you will engage increasing the effective rocker profile and thus improving control.
